You have surely seen a classic rainbow. But have you ever heard of a fire rainbow? They are neither fire nor rainbows, but are labelled as such because of their brilliant pastel colors and flame- like appearance.
Actually, they are known as circumhorizontal arcs - an optical illusion phenomenon. Certain factors are needed to create this rare sight or ice halo (sun high in the sky, the clouds must be cirrus and at an altitude of 20,000 feet and just the right amount of ice crystals present).
