Eat Apples, But Don’t Overdo It!

Many fruits that belong to the rose family (such as apples, pears, apricots, almonds…) contain traces of arsenic or cyanide. Thankfully, these poisons are present in minute amounts in the seeds or pits, and present a danger only if ingested in large quantities. The ingestion of 50 almonds by an adult can engender dire consequences as this amount represents 0.2 grams of cyanide.
