''Les Demoiselles d'Avignon'' By Picasso - Nothing To Do With France

Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, the famous painting by Picasso considered the starting point of Cubism, wasn't named in reference to the French town of the same name. This painting paid tribute to prostitutes who worked on Avinyo street in Barcelona.

You can see the painting at the MoMA in New York city. With the naked women portrayed like African sculptures; Picasso revolutionized painting with this cubist composition.
